Friendship House received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Speaker Emerita Pelosi for The Village SF, which will provide holistic and culturally significant services to San Francisco's Urban American Indian Community.
USDA Forest Service & the Soft Lumber Board
The Village SF was selected as one of five winners to receive funding for reducing its carbon footprint. Friendship House will receive $500,000 for the six-story, Indigenous-led development in San Francisco. Sequestering over 275 metric tons of carbon, the Village SF project was selected because it demonstrates “mass timber’s innovative, scalable applications in architectural design and to highlight its significant role in reducing the built environment’s carbon footprint.”

National Environmental Justice leaders at The ReGenesis Institute recognized the work of SF Mayor Breed and Friendship House in a proclamation honoring their joint commitment to supporting the Justice40 Initiative and creating a national model for environmental and social justice. Read more here.
